Minnesota requires snowmobile certification
In Minnesota, all snowmobile operators who are at least 12 years of age and born after December 31st, 1976 are required to take a Minnesota-approved Snowmobile Safety Course and obtain a Snowmobile Safety Certificate before riding on public lands. (Class is open to Children ages 11-15. Certification becomes valid at the age of 12)
To get your Snowmobile Safety Certificate, you must first complete an online course like the one offered at www.snowmobilecourse.com (https://www.snowmobilecourse.com/usa/minnesota/)
Second, you must attend a one day class room review and riding performance course lead by trained volunteer instructors and a DNR Conservation Officer. The New Prague SnowDrifters offer this one-day classroom review and field test.
The next Youth Snowmobile Safety Class is Saturday, Dec 7th 2024 at the New Prague Central Education Campus (CEC) / District Board Room.
